Boot Trouble
Suppose your computer cannot be booted.
Maybe, either the inner hard disk or the system is out of order.
- In this case, boot the computer from a system in the Jaz cartridge named "systems" (in the following, JAZ-SYSTEM).
- Check JAZ-SYSTEM by using other computer.
If, in JAZ-SYSTEM, the system which you want to use for booting is not active, activate it.
- Connect Jaz to the computer. Power on it. And insert JAZ-SYSTEM.
- Boot/reboot the computer.
- How to boot from JAZ-SYSTEM
- You can boot from JAZ-SYSTEM if you had anticipated this accident and had set the startup disk to be JAZ-SYSTEM.
- If the startup disk is not set to JAZ-SYSTEM, then keep pushing Command + Option + Shift + Delete while the computer is booted.
Then the computer begins to look for a system in JAZ-SYSTEM, and boot oneself by using it.
- The case the icon of the inner hard disk appears on the desktop :
Take the following steps :
- Rename the system folder in the hard disk.
- Copy the system folder in JAZ-SYSTEM into the hard disk.
- Shutdown
Then the Jaz cartridge is ejected from the Jaz drive.
- Power On

Hard disk is physically or logically damaged. Take the following steps :
- Run the "Norton Utility" in JAZ-SYSTEM.
- Select "Diagnosis"
- Return "OK" for every prompt, except the stage of "file diagnosis".
- If the diagnosis enters the stage of "file diagnosis", escape it.
- Quit the "Norton Utility".
- Shutdown
Then the Jaz cartridge is ejected from the Jaz drive.
- Power On
