Abstract
By means of new media which are much of power and flexibility, we can realize rich and powerful teaching/learning material which was mere dream before.
In particular, multimedia make it possible for us to make representation of subjecs which is direct to image.
Let us think of making teaching/learning material from two viewpoints, "making materials" and "editing/authoring".
Then "innovation of teaching/learning media" is such that
- Material is digital ("digital material")
- Authoring is digital-edit of digital material
- Product-out is digital contents (multimedia contents).
By means of digital technology, those materials (text, still image, sound, movie, and so on) which were realized in different media before, have become possible to be proceeded as things of the same quality.
"Digital editing" is a prominent example. Another prominent example is "digital communication".
"multimedia" as "directness to image" progresses as follows :
"visualized" --> "sensori-motor" --> "virtual reality"
