Dialup IP Connection
Computers which are not connected to the Internet is the same as houses which are apart from the road-network.
In order that we can benefit from the road-network, we must construct a road from our house to a road nearby. Conversely, once it was made we can always benefit from the network.
Of course, user's comfortability depends to the quality of the road layed.@But still there are miles of difference between connected and disconnected.
Most easiest "road" by which your computer becomes connected to the Internet (precisely speaking, the Internet comes up to your computer) is the telephone circuit.
But in this case, if the access point is distant, the cost becomes expensive in the form of "long distance call charge".
What proves a computer to be an Internet terminal is an IP address. Internet-connection via public telephone circuits is the case where a computer temporarily becomes an Internet terminal by given a temporal IP address. Therefore this type of connection is called "dialup IP connection".
Dialup IP connection is a lowest-graded "road layed from the house to the road-network". But, of course, what should be emphasized about this type of connection is not "grade" but "convenience". In fact, if you have an access point for the dialup IP connection, you can draw the Internet up to you wherever a telephone is found.
