The course is of a dynamic webpage creation by PHP and database. In other words, it is a web-enabled database site.
From my experience, I think the design of this type of course site becomes almost fixed, as to the structure, function/tool-set and appearance (user-interface).

Students' Reports
Report making is assigned to students as webpage making.
This is the table of students' achievement results. It contains links to students works.
In order that this linkage works, students are instructed to keep the ruled way of report making.
Students become to know their relative position of grade, and learn from the others' works.
Knowledge Service
A course stands on a broad base of knowledge. So, if you practice web-based instruction, then a web-based knowledge service simply results. Conversely, by picking up knowledge service contents, you can arrange the contents of a course.
