Logical or Practical ?
Let us be careful not to confuse logical reasoning and practical reasoning.
Examples
- The following is not a result of a practical reasoning, but a logical reasoning:
"The sum of the magnitudes of the inner angles of a triangle is 180 degree."
Suppose that the sum of the magnitudes of the inner angles of a triangle was 179 degree when you measured by using a protracter. Which of the followings is your conclusion ?
- "The sum of the magnitudes of the inner angles of a triangle is 179 degree."
- "The protracter I used is of poor quality."
I hope your conclusion is the latter :-)
